Berlin Fashion Week witnessed the highly anticipated return of GmbH, the German label synonymous with bold, thought-provoking fashion. After showcasing their collections in Paris for several seasons, designers Benjamin Alexander Huseby and Serhat Isik brought their Spring/Summer 2025 collection back to their creative hub – Berlin.
This homecoming wasn’t just symbolic; it resonated deeply with the collection’s theme: “Resistance Through Rituals.” Inspired by their own experiences and the current sociopolitical climate, Huseby and Isik presented a powerful exploration of resilience and the fight against oppression.
The show, held on the rooftop of the Tempodrom performance center, defied the initial rain delay. As the skies cleared, models emerged in a series of looks that defied easy categorization. GmbH’s signature effortless cool was evident throughout, with a focus on fluidity and movement. Think sporty paneled dresses, some shimmering with sequins, paired with capacious khakis. Cotton shirting with intriguing cutouts added a touch of the unexpected, while wide-shouldered bombers exuded a confident swagger.
The collection brimmed with ideas. Hooded suiting blurred the lines between goth, romantic, and Olympian – a testament to GmbH’s ability to weave diverse references into a cohesive narrative. Square-toed ankle boots with deep cuffs added a touch of intrigue, further solidifying the collection’s unique character.
