Ermenegildo Zegna opens Milan Fashion Week Menswear Fall/Winter 2021 with a no audience show, the COVID-19 pandemic required.
Titled ‘’The (Re)set’’ – Why reset? Because what worked yesterday doesn’t work today and will no longer work tomorrow – the Alessandro Sartori’s Fall/Winter 2021 collection for Ermenegildo Zegna was based on two main pillars: elegance and comfort to project the luxury house into a new world – one where elegance walks hand-in-hand with comfort and where the boundaries between previously compartmentalized merchandising categories blur to welcome more functional, hybrid garments.
Thus, clothes were cut in generous silhouettes and in innovative fabrics, offering comfort and lightness. Sartori said he wanted to offer functionality, coziness and protection.
The color palette was sophisticated, in warm and earthy tones like camel, tobacco, petrol green and dark teal. Some pieces were shown also on female models – a novelty for the brand although womenswear was not an unknown turf for Ermenegildo Zegna Group, who till August 2020 owned womenswear focused brand Agnona.
