Moschino Fall/Winter 2021 – Milan Fashion Week Men’s

Against a watercolor backdrop of a 1940’s brick-lined alleyway, Jeremy Scott, as a great cinephile, presented his Moschino men’s collection for Fall/Winter 2021, inspired by Old Hollywood and post-impressionism.

The collection paid tribute to movie legends such as Humphrey Bogart, Dana Andrews and Edward G Robinson, and post-impressionist painters Paul Cézanne and Paul Gauguin.

Using clothing as a new age canvas, freeform brushstroke prints envelop the collection in its entirety, making the pieces almost part of the canvas as the backdrop.

The ensemble created remarkable trompe l’oeil effects that Scott attributed to his passion for the study of painting.

Although the prints tended to repeat themselves, the contrasting color palette made clothes unique, in a burst of invigoration.

Comprised of the menswear essentials, the collection offered for the day paint-effect puffers, tracksuits, hoodies, denim pieces, sweatshirts, varsity jackets, and for the evening three-piece suits, waistcoats and elegant tuxedos.
