Jack Harlow, the 26-year-old Kentucky-born rapper, finally has his own New Balance sneaker, a long-awaited collaboration that has been years in the making. A loyal New Balance enthusiast, Harlow has been representing the Boston-based brand for several years, showing his love for the iconic label by wearing shoes as old as the 2002r and as modern as the 500.
The anticipation has been palpable, and the wait was finally over when Harlow posted an enigmatic Instagram post on May 5th, giving fans a glimpse of his upcoming New Balance 1906R sneaker. Dressed in stunning pink florals and lush velour, the chunky shoe is a nostalgic throwback to a bygone era. The retro-inspired design is a perfect representation of Harlow’s eclectic style, which ranges from ultra-normal kicks to the world’s rarest shoes.
Harlow’s relationship with New Balance began in early 2022, when he was named an official ambassador for the brand. “I’ve been rocking New Balance since I was a kid, so to officially join the brand in this way is really exciting,” Harlow said in a press release at the time. “I’m excited to peek behind the curtain and work with the brand more.”

This is not the first time Harlow has partnered with New Balance. Earlier this year, he starred in an ad as part of the brand’s “We Got Now” campaign, which featured Harlow and his friends strolling through his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, all dressed in New Balance gear. Harlow has also appeared in a New Balance commercial alongside Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard, who also has his own line of NB basketball sneakers.
The taste Harlow has given fans so far will have to tide them over until the shoe drops in Fall 2024, but based on his personal shoe style, the resulting sneaker won’t disappoint.
“I’m excited to work with New Balance on this project and bring something new and unique to the table,” Harlow said in a statement. “I look forward to seeing how people respond to the shoe and what kind of creativity and style it inspires.“
