Luxury fashion house Gucci strengthens its ties with Thailand by appointing Thai actor, model and singer Gulf Kanawut Traipipattanapong (better known by his stage name Gulf) as its first male brand ambassador from the country. This strategic move follows the appointment last year of actress Davika Hoorne as the first Thai-born ambassador for both Gucci and Gucci Beauty.

Gulf brings a significant following and a reputation for style to the role. Since launching her acting career in 2015, the Bangkok-born star has become a prominent figure in Thailand’s entertainment and media industry. He has starred in popular films such as “Bua Pen Fun Yap” and television series such as “TharnType: The Series” and “You Are My Makeup Artist” have made him a household name in Thailand.
His international popularity skyrocketed with “TharnType: The Series,” a show that has garnered a devoted global fan base. Gulf’s portrayal of Type Thiwat, a character whose journey involves self-discovery and acceptance, resonated with audiences around the world.
In 2020, Gulf expanded his career by becoming a singer, debuting with his first single, “Missing Baby.” He collaborated with fellow artist Wanarat Ratsameerat on the track under the Boyfriend project, which is part of the GMM Grammy record label.
His association with Gucci began in 2020 as a “friend of the house,” and his fashion choices have reflected a growing appreciation for the brand’s aesthetic. Most recently, Gulf turned heads at the Gucci Ancora Men’s Fall/Winter 2024 show in Milan, wearing a simple white logo sweatshirt paired with black leather trousers and the iconic Jackie bag.
