Aaron Taylor-Johnson, a man of action on and off screen, has officially taken the reins as the new ambassador for Acqua di Giò, Giorgio Armani‘s iconic men’s fragrance. Known for his commitment to authenticity and pushing boundaries, Taylor-Johnson embodies the spirit of the brand, which celebrates a modern masculinity that is both free-spirited and adventurous.
For the brand’s latest campaign, Taylor-Johnson embarked on a daring stunt, diving 16 feet off a cliff into a pristine Italian lake. This fearless leap embodies the essence of Acqua di Giò, which has long been associated with the thrill of adventure and a connection to nature.
Choosing to dive himself, he underwent two intense four-hour sessions with a stunt coordinator and an Olympic diver to learn how to properly swan dive a week before the campaign shoot.
“That was fantastic to shoot, trying to convey the Acqua di Giò man of today,” said Taylor-Johnson. “This story of a man who’s on the precipice of change. There’s always an iconic jump or dive, and in this sequence, I trained to do this dive, which was a stunt, essentially.”

Armani himself recognized the perfect synergy between Taylor-Johnson and the fragrance. “Aaron has an intensity and beauty that is both self-aware and emblematic of today,” he explained. “Acqua di Giò embodies a way of understanding masculinity that is at once free, sensitive and adventurous. These are all characteristics that Aaron expresses with his presence and physicality.”
Taylor-Johnson, who has always admired Armani‘s work, expressed his deep appreciation for the opportunity to represent the brand. “Giorgio Armani is one of this century’s most iconic, influential designers – someone who embodies elegance and sophistication,” he said. “It’s a real privilege and honor to represent the brand’s fragrance.”
The campaign, directed by Yoann Lemoine, captures the essence of Acqua di Giò, with Taylor-Johnson traversing rugged landscapes and embracing the raw beauty of nature. The fragrance itself, with its refreshing blend of citrus, lavender and vetiver, perfectly complements the rugged yet refined personality of the brand’s new ambassador.
Since its debut in 1996, Acqua Di Giò has consistently been a leading choice in men’s fragrances, maintaining a top three position worldwide for over two decades, according to Circana, formerly The NPD Group. The fragrance is an important part of the Armani Beauty collection, licensed under L’Oréal.
